Why Make NOIDS Gummies?
- Easy to dose: Create the strength that suits you.
- Convenient: Easy to take on the go.
- Cost-Effective: Cheaper than buying pre-made supplements.
What You’ll Need:
- NOIDS Herb Cooker to reduce your desired amount of NOIDS Tincture to FECO
- 1 packet of Aeroplane Jelly – Pick a strong flavour
- 230ml of warm to hot diluted cordial (same as your drinking strength) - Pick the same flavour as your jelly
- 22g of unflavoured gelatine – 2g-4g more if you want the gummies to be a little more rigid, less if you want them to be a little more jelly like
- 1 teaspoon of flavour extract (optional) – Pick the same flavour as your jelly and cordial
- 1/2 teaspoon of citric acid – This helps nullify the herb flavour
- 2 teaspoons of honey or another liquid sweetener
- A small silicone spatula or spoon
- Some Gummy moulds
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Gather Your Ingredients
Place all your ingredients together, except the honey, into a large mixing bowl. Ensure you whisk all ingredients together while the cordial is hot enough to melt the gelatine crystals.
- Bloom your Mixture
Ensure that the gummy mix is blooming. Blooming happens when the gelatine has melted and combine with the other ingredients and starts to solidify at room temperature.
*Important Tip*
If the mix fails to bloom once the mixture has cooled to room temperature, more gelatine will need to be added.
- Reduce your Tincture to FECO
Using your NOIDS machine, reclaim your alcohol and reduce the tincture until it becomes FECO. This process time will depend on how much tincture you are reducing.
Once you have FECO, remove the beaker from the machine and add in the honey or sweetener and mix with a small silicone spatula.
- Almost Done!
Once the honey and FECO has been mixed, add in your bloomed gelatine mix to the beaker and place the beaker back into the NOIDS machine.
Select the infusion setting (Add in infusion icon) to allow the mixture to melt. Once the mixture has melted, use a silicon spatula to stir the mixture, ensuring the FECO and honey mix combines with the gelatine mix.
*Caution*
The beaker will be hot when the mix has fully melted, handle with care.
- Last Steps…
Once your mix has been combine together, pour your mix (with the aid of your silicone spatula) into an empty sauce bottle or utensil with a spout and dispense the gummy mix into your gummy moulds. Bloom at room temperature and then place in the fridge to cure.
Tips and Hacks:
Tip 1: Use our potency calculator to determine your approximate mg strength per gummy
Tip 2: Let them Bloom! Make sure you let the gummy mix bloom at room temperature before transferring to the fridge to cure. This ensures that the gummies won’t melt when in regular room temperature conditions. Remove from moulds once cured, and store using your chosen storage method
Tip 3: Freeze Them? If you don’t plan on consuming the gummies for more than a week, we recommend you freeze them. They can last between 3 – 6 months in the freezer.
Tip 4: Dosage. The average dose for a gummy is about 10mg. Remember, you can always take more to get your desired effects. You don’t want to overdo things…
Tip 5: Experiment with different flavours, sizes and shapes for moulds. They are bound to bring a smile to everyone’s faces.
Conclusion
Making Gummies is very easy, you just have to take the first step. It’s a great and discreet way to medicate when travelling or at work.
Enjoy your homemade Gummies and stay healthy!
